@rubenerd re:microblogs
Ackschually... Microblogging predates Twitter et al! I distinctly recall the "tumbleblog" term being thrown about, around 2005-ish, and back then they were described as a throwback to older times. In the Before Time, people didn't always bother with long form, or titles, for that matter, that was popularized by software like Movable Type (which is what people used before WordPress was forked from b2).
I mean, Twitter and Tumblr et al certainly lowered the bar to entry, but they certainly didn't invent the form.
@rubenerd We had one of the earlier (if not the first) C64, around ... early 80s, in the Netherlands.
If wikipedia is to be believed, that would be about right in terms of period and color. I don't have it anymore, but I do vividly remember it being beige-brown, with the chocolate brown keycaps and gray-ish F-keys. Exactly like the one in this image, in fact. Certainly not gray, and I'd say darker than "beige".
This post by Nate succinctly points out why software has bugs, keeps having bugs, and why this is a good thing. #programming
Both illegal and unethical — nobody ever told me that, before! #chatgpt
